Mouth And Throat Exercises to Stop Snoring and Treat Sleep Apnea.

Do you or someone you know (perhaps your spouse?!) have chronic snoring? Maybe even Sleep Apnea- diagnosed or undiagnosed?

Myofunctional Therapy with oropharyngeal exercise has been widely studied with life-changing outcomes on sleep quality, snoring, and quality of life. There are very few myofunctional therapists out there, and as a licensed Speech Pathologist, I have been using breathwork and mouth/throat (oropharyngeal) exercises to treat snoring, sleep apnea, and anxiety for years.

Upper airway exercises prove to be a novel, easy, non-invasive technique to improve Sleep Apnea (OSA), O2 saturation and chronic snoring.

 Did you know?

-50-70 million US adults have a sleep disorder. 48% people report snoring.

-At least 22 million Americans suffer from sleep apnea, with 80% of the cases of moderate and severe obstructive sleep apnea undiagnosed.

-We lose 15-16% of our lung capacity between ages 30-50; with rapid decline after age 50. This is because our ribcage expansion diminishes with less flexible intercostal muscles. We can reverse this with specific exercises.

I offer individual sessions with effective oropharyngeal exercises, myofunctional therapy, and breath training to improve sleep, eliminate snoring, and treat sleep apnea.

Private sessions take place virtually, from the safety and convenience of your home, with easy connection via zoom or remote platform of your choice.

Tactical Breath Training for Anxiety Management, Healing, and to Optimize Health.

How do you breathe? It might not be something you’ve given much thought, but poor breathing habits can be severely detrimental to your physical health and mental state, contribute to anxiety, and even impact disease manifestations in your body. There are simple breathing techniques to optimize health, fitness and significantly reduce anxiety.

As a Speech Pathologist with specialty in the oral, nasal, pharyngeal, and respiratory mechanisms, I have been treating patients for over 20 years. As a yoga teacher, I now implement structured breath training into all my sessions with astounding results in management of anxiety, stress, and physical conditions.

Many of us are breathing through our mouths, breathing fast and shallow, and our health is suffering as a result. There is proven science behind nasal breathing as a fundamental key to physical and mental health, and I offer specific breathwork techniques that will transform your sleep, anxiety levels, and performance in work, sport, and life.

These individual sessions are for everyone and anyone. If you have struggled with asthma, anxiety, chronic pain, autoimmune dysfunction, or any other chronic condition, starting with breath is extremely important and can literally be a road to dramatic healing.
